This notice explains what personal data we collect when you use this website or deal with us, why we collect it, and what your rights are.

    What we collect

We keep it minimal. Depending on how you interact with us, we may collect:

    • Contact details you give us when you get in touch, subscribe to our newsletter, or fill in a form: typically your name, work email, company and role
    • Event registration details when you sign up for one of our events, including dietary requirements where you provide them
    • Responses you give to our surveys and research
    • Website analytics data, such as pages visited and how you found us

We only collect data we genuinely need for a specific purpose.

    Why we collect it

    We use your data to:

    • Respond to your enquiries
    • Send you our newsletter and marketing, where you have signed up for it
    • Run events you have registered for
    • Publish anonymised research findings
    • Understand how our website is used so we can improve it
    • Deliver our services to clients

Our lawful bases under UK GDPR are consent (for marketing), legitimate interests (for responding to enquiries and business-to-business contact), and contract (where we are providing services to you).

    Who we share it with

We do not sell your data. We share it only with the service providers we use to run the business, such as Google Workspace, Slack, Notion, Beehiiv, Xero, Canva, Avoma and our outsourced business support provider. Some of these providers host data outside the UK. Where they do, appropriate safeguards are in place.

    How long we keep it

We keep personal data only as long as there is a genuine reason to. In practice:

    • Marketing contacts: until you unsubscribe, or after 12 months of inactivity
    • Event attendee information: 12 months after the event, with dietary requirements deleted immediately after the event
    • Website analytics: 26 months
    • Client and supplier records: 6 years after the relationship ends, to meet legal requirements

When data is no longer needed, we delete it securely.

    Cookies and analytics

This website uses analytics to understand how visitors use it. Analytics data is retained for 26 months.

    Your rights

Under UK GDPR you have the right to access the personal data we hold about you, correct it, ask us to delete it, restrict or object to how we use it, and receive a copy of it. You can withdraw consent to marketing at any time by using the unsubscribe link in any email or by contacting us.

To exercise any of these rights, email jill@waye.agency. We will respond within one month.

If you are unhappy with how we have handled your data, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.
